The ideal candidate will be safety-oriented and able to work well with a team. Must have a minimum of 2 - 3 years fitting experience in a fab shop. Must be able to read plans &amp; blueprints, have experience on stair stringers, handrails, platforms and other structural products. Candidates must also be able to work with a variety of saws and hand tools.&lt;br /&gt;

<description>Ameristeel Constructors is looking for an experienced 2nd Class Welder to work in our custom steel fab shop. We are a well respected steel supplier, fabricator, and residential steel erector. We fabricate structural steel for the petro-chemical, commercial, industrial, and residential industries. Our onsite facilities includes three buildings for fabricating, sandblasting, and painting.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Job duties are as follows:&lt;br /&gt;
Fabricates components to weld structural forms such as; metal arches, stair stringers, handrails, anchor bolts, flitch plates, wall rail, tube columns, pipe columns, beams etc. according to specifications, and blue prints. Tack weld components and assemblies, using electric gas, arc, or other welding equipment. Cuts pieces using powered saws, hand shears, or chipping knife. Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations. Structural steel welding for fabrication shop.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Qualified candidates must have personal welding equipment, at least 2 years of shop welding experience, experience with fluxcore, mig &amp; stick rod welding, be able to pass a welding test in the flat and uphill position with fluxcore wire, be able to read, write, and do basic math which includes reading a tape measure and being able to add / subtract fractions, have knowledge of structural shapes and weld symbols on shop detail drawings.&lt;br /&gt;

The hours for the position are Monday - Friday 7 am to 4 pm.  Candidates must be willing and able to work overtime and weekends when required.  However, overtime is never guaranteed. &lt;br /&gt;

The driver will normally be responsible for loading/unloading the materials using a forklift. The person filling this position will also be responsible for conducting pre and post trip inspections according to FMSCA guidelines, ensuring all shipping credentials are correct with quantity and product, performing work and deliveries in a professional manner, contacting dispatch when reaching destinations to confirm loads, and strapping/tarping loads securely when necessary.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;strong&gt;Qualifications: &lt;/strong&gt;Qualified candidates must have a valid Class A CDL, 3-5 years experience driving tractor trailers, and have a hazmat endorsement. If candidates do not have a hazmat, they will be required to get one within 90 days of being employed.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;strong&gt;Summary: &lt;/strong&gt;The driver will deliver the product(s) from Alvin to Buda and then drive back to Alvin. The driver will be responsible for loading and unloading his trailer with a forklift. The driver may be asked to make stops on the way to Buda and on the way back to Alvin. The driver may also be asked to pick up materials (locally) before leaving the yard to drive to Buda. The driver will be paid $45 per pick up / drop. The driver will be responsible for inspecting loads and verifying the products on his truck. The driver will be required to log his hours on a daily basis and follow all DOT regulations. The driver will also be responsible for doing a pre-trip and post trip inspection of his vehicle on a daily basis. The driver will be subject to random DOT and non - DOT drug tests.&lt;br /&gt;

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: tarping, strapping, delivering masonry material LOCALLY to customers in the DFW/surrounding areas, offloading the material from a flatbed trailer by using a Princeton &quot;piggyback&quot; forklift.&lt;br /&gt;

**In order to be considered for the higher end of the pay scale, Candidates MUST meet the following criteria:&lt;br /&gt;
-MUST have CLASS A CDL; w/current HME or be willing to obtain HME upon being hired&lt;br /&gt;
-2 years of (recent) driving experience with tractor / trailer (flatbed) combo and stable work history&lt;br /&gt;
-Driving record clear of accidents and/or tickets with a clean MVR&lt;br /&gt;
-Minimum 6-12 months use of Princeton/Moffitt (piggyback) forklift&lt;br /&gt;
-Must be 21 years of age per company policy&lt;br /&gt;
-Able and willing to lift 50 - 75 lbs&lt;br /&gt;

Additional characteristics of a qualified candidate:&lt;br /&gt;
-Familiar with the Metroplex and surrounding areas&lt;br /&gt;
