Forklift Operator - Alvin, TX

Summary: The person in this position will be moving and unloading material up to 100lbs such as mortar, concrete, sand bags, etc. This person will also be responsible for palletizing materials, operating a forklift to move material and load / unload flat bed trucks, fluctuate stock and stage materials according to ticket orders, and separate different orders and band together with strapping material.

Environment: This position requires working in a non-climate controlled environment exposing the person to different elements of the weather such as high temperatures in the summer time and colder weather in the winter seasons.

Pay: $11/hour

Schedule: Monday – Friday 9am-close. The person in this position must be willing to work a flexible schedule. Overtime and weekend work are not guaranteed but the employee will be required to work if requested.

Structural Fitter - Alvin, Texas

Ameristeel Constructors / AHI Supply is looking for an experienced Structural Fitter to work in our custom steel fab shop.

The ideal candidate will be safety-oriented and able to work well with a team. Must have a minimum of 2 - 3 years fitting experience in a fab shop. Must be able to read plans & blueprints, have experience on stair stringers, handrails, platforms and other structural products. Candidates must also be able to work with a variety of saws and hand tools.

Candidates must pass drug screen and background check. (Convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis; convictions will not necessarily bar a candidates employment.)

Regular work hours are Monday through Friday 7am to 4pm. Some overtime and weekend work may be required but is never guaranteed.

2nd Class Welder - Alvin, TX

Ameristeel Constructors is looking for an experienced 2nd Class Welder to work in our custom steel fab shop. We are a well respected steel supplier, fabricator, and residential steel erector. We fabricate structural steel for the petro-chemical, commercial, industrial, and residential industries. Our onsite facilities includes three buildings for fabricating, sandblasting, and painting.

Job duties are as follows:
Fabricates components to weld structural forms such as; metal arches, stair stringers, handrails, anchor bolts, flitch plates, wall rail, tube columns, pipe columns, beams etc. according to specifications, and blue prints. Tack weld components and assemblies, using electric gas, arc, or other welding equipment. Cuts pieces using powered saws, hand shears, or chipping knife. Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations. Structural steel welding for fabrication shop.

Qualified candidates must have personal welding equipment, at least 2 years of shop welding experience, experience with fluxcore, mig & stick rod welding, be able to pass a welding test in the flat and uphill position with fluxcore wire, be able to read, write, and do basic math which includes reading a tape measure and being able to add / subtract fractions, have knowledge of structural shapes and weld symbols on shop detail drawings.

The hours for the position are Monday - Friday 7 am to 4 pm. Candidates must be willing and able to work overtime and weekends when required. However, overtime is never guaranteed.

Summary: AHI Supply, a masonry supply company, is currently hiring for an Outside Sales Respresentative for our Roanoke, TX location. The person in this position will be:

Contacting regular and prospective customers to solicit orders
Completing sales contracts or forms to record sales information

Route Driver - Buda, Texas

Summary: AHI Supply (a manufacturer and distributor of construction products) is currently hiring for a Route Driver to travel to Dallas, Houston, Central, and South Texas areas to pick up/deliver materials to/from vendors and customers. The driver will normally be responsible for loading/unloading the materials using a forklift. The person filling this position will also be responsible for conducting pre and post trip inspections according to FMSCA guidelines, ensuring all shipping credentials are correct with quantity and product, performing work and deliveries in a professional manner, contacting dispatch when reaching destinations to confirm loads, and strapping/tarping loads securely when necessary.

Qualifications: Qualified candidates must have a valid Class A CDL, 3-5 years experience driving tractor trailers, and have a hazmat endorsement. If candidates do not have a hazmat, they will be required to get one within 90 days of being employed.

Schedule: Normal schedule is Monday through Friday with a start time about 3am each day and working between 10-12 hours per shift. Driver must be flexible with his/her schedule and able and willing to come in with or without notice when needed. The person in this position will also be required to work some Saturdays, leaving as early as 4am and finishing around 12pm.

Compensation: Drivers will be paid by the load. If travelling to the Dallas/Houston/Corpus area, drivers will be paid $120. If travelling to the South Texas/McAllen area, the driver will receive $200. Drivers also receive $50 per back haul.

Benefits: Driver will be eligible for medical and dental insurance after 90 days of employment as well as 4 paid sick days and 6 paid holidays per year. After one year of employment, drivers are eligible to participate in the 401K plan and will receive 5 paid vacation days, which renew each year on the anniversary date.

Route Driver - Alvin, Texas

Requirements: The ideal candidate for this position will have a Class A license, a hazmat endorsement, TWIC card, 2-5 years of recent driving experience (driving a flatbed / tractor trailer), 1-3 years forklift experience, experience strapping and tarping loads, must be able to lift 95lbs, must be dependable and flexible, good with numbers, clean criminal record, and clean driving record.

Summary: The driver will deliver the product(s) from Alvin to Buda and then drive back to Alvin. The driver will be responsible for loading and unloading his trailer with a forklift. The driver may be asked to make stops on the way to Buda and on the way back to Alvin. The driver may also be asked to pick up materials (locally) before leaving the yard to drive to Buda. The driver will be paid $45 per pick up / drop. The driver will be responsible for inspecting loads and verifying the products on his truck. The driver will be required to log his hours on a daily basis and follow all DOT regulations. The driver will also be responsible for doing a pre-trip and post trip inspection of his vehicle on a daily basis. The driver will be subject to random DOT and non - DOT drug tests.

Pay: The driver will be paid by the load / $125 per day. If additional supplies are added to the truck the driver will receive an additional $45. If the driver is asked to make extra drops he will recieve an additional $45 per drop.

Schedule: The hours for the position are evenings / nights. The average start time will be between 3pm and 5pm. However, this is subject to change with or without notice. The driver will usually work Monday - Friday. However, he must be able and willing to work Saturday and / or Sunday with or without notice. The driver will work an average of 10 hours per day. The average drive time (round trip) is 6 1/2 hours / an average of 400 miles.

Benefits: After 90 days of employment, you will be eligible for medical and dental insurance, 6 paid holidays, and 4 paid sick days. After one year of employment, drivers recieve 5 paid vacation days. Employees are eligible for 401K after one year of employment. The company does not make employer contributions at this time.

Class A CDL Driver (Local) - Roanoke, Texas

In search of a Class A CDL licensed delivery driver.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: tarping, strapping, delivering masonry material LOCALLY to customers in the DFW/surrounding areas, offloading the material from a flatbed trailer by using a Princeton "piggyback" forklift.

**In order to be considered for the higher end of the pay scale, Candidates MUST meet the following criteria:
-MUST have CLASS A CDL; w/current HME or be willing to obtain HME upon being hired
-2 years of (recent) driving experience with tractor / trailer (flatbed) combo and stable work history
-Driving record clear of accidents and/or tickets with a clean MVR
-Minimum 6-12 months use of Princeton/Moffitt (piggyback) forklift
-Must be 21 years of age per company policy
-Able and willing to lift 50 - 75 lbs

Additional characteristics of a qualified candidate:
-Familiar with the Metroplex and surrounding areas
-Familiar with locating the delivery destination using a key map
-Experience tarping, strapping, and offloading material with a forklift (employer --will consider training someone to operate forklift)

Depending on experience, the position will pay between $15 - $17 per hour. The hours for this position are generally Monday - Friday. The drivers can start work as early as 6:00 a.m. and they will work until they have finished all of their deliveries. Overtime is not guaranteed, but when it is available the drivers are expected to work.

This position is an hourly non-exempt position. After 90 days of employment with the company, drivers are eligible for the following benefits:
